Not all paintings visible-an explanation

In recent years I have purchased some real little paintings that will find their place in my house.

But those are not enough to fill the rooms by far.
For decades I have been a great admirer of a painter, in my vast opinion the best painter alive today.
And not just that, the best painter in -literally- ages.
So I had my heart and mind set on the use of these images.

As I don't want to steal someone else's work by bluntly copying from the internet,
I contacted this painter and asked for permission to download some of his work to use in my dollhouse and put it on my blog.
He got back to me in a very friendly e-mail, and told me he is OK with me downloading his work for use in the DH, prohibited I do not show the works on the internet and do not mention this artists name.
I fully understand and respect this.

So I will work the pictures in a way you will only see a white or a dark space in those picture frames.
I am sorry I cannot show you his magnificent work but a deal is a deal.
Thought I'd give you an explanation on what to expect on forehand.

  1. How kind of him to let you use the images but a shame we cannot enjoy them too, however I am sure he doesn't want to see hundreds of them used for miniatures so I can understand. You will be able to enjoy his work up close in your mini home now so that is great.

  2. I feel the same way about it, Margaret.

Thought it would be odd to make the paintings blanc without an explanation, too.

And it is funny; though I understand why, it's still nagging a bit in my mind.
Would have loved to give him the credits he deserves.
But, well, a promise is a promise.

  3. Dear Gee,
You "meet" a lot of people by your dollhouse. It's always lovely when they act on your mail. It's a pity you may not show them but I love your respect.
    Hugs Dorien

  4. Hello Gee,
It was very courteous of you to contact the artist and respect his wishes.
    Big hug,

  5. Dorien and Giac,

He paints for a living and of course he has to protect his work and the ones buying it.
To respect the wishes of my paintings-idol after enjoying his work so much is about the least I can do.

    Thanks for your understanding!

  6. well that's fair, you get to have his lovely photos and he retains his privacy.

  7. Geweldig dat je dat doet, Gee, ik ben het met je eens dat je respect voor andermans werk moet hebben. Desondanks vind ik het wel jammer dat we dat kunstwerk daardoor hier niet kunnen zien.
    Fijne zondag. Groetjes, Ilona
